How do I register a new student?

Thank you for considering International Academy of Smyrna. Please complete this registration form for each scholar you want to be considered for admission to the International Academy of Smyrna. Click here to download a copy of the application. You may print and mail it or deliver it to the school. Please note the school is not responsible for applications that do not arrive in the mail. NOTE: Scholars interested in Kindergarten must be 5 years old on or before September 1st. Scholars interested in 1st grade, must be 6 years old on or before September 1st.

New students may register for enrollment by clicking the button below. You will receive an invitation to apply and will have two weeks to complete required documentation, incomplete applicants will forfeit their space.

Open enrollment will only take place for the 2024-2025 school year and after that IAS will return to conducting lotteries when more students apply than there are seats available.

Once the application process begins, please turn in all documents within two weeks of receiving your invitation to apply.   If the documents are not received by the deadline, families will forfeit their seat(s) and we proceed to the next person on the “lottery waitlist.”  Once this list has been exhausted, then we will send acceptance letters to families who registered after February 19th.  This process will continue until all seats are filled.

Do I need to register a current student?

Yes. Returning scholars must register for the next school year each year. Registration is now open for all returning scholars and their siblings until January 16, 2024.

In order to register your scholar for the 2024-2025 school year, you must:

  1. Login to Infinite Campus
  2. Select ‘More’ in the left menu
  3. Select ‘Online Application’ to begin
  4. Confirm your scholar’s name and click ‘Begin Registration’
  5. Complete the application, review your information, and click ‘submit’

Can I download the lottery registration form?

Yes, simply click here to download a form to register for our lottery.  Fill out one form per registering student. Once complete, you can deliver it to the school (2144 S Cobb Drive SE, Smyrna, GA 30080), send it via email,  or snail mail it.  Please note, IAS is not responsible for registrations sent by mail.

Can I download the paper form of the enrollment application

Yes, simply click here to download a paper form of the scholar enrollment application. Please note, that we can not accept any enrollment applications, unless the scholar has been invited to apply after they’ve already completed the registration process.

Special Education

Does IAS have a gifted program?

The International Academy of Smyrna’s gifted program serves students who have been identified gifted under the requirements outlined by the Georgia State Department of Education Rule 160-4-2-.38.

Does IAS have a special education program?

Each year the Georgia Department of Education Division for Special Education Services and Supports collects information from parents as to how schools facilitated parent involvement as a means of improving services and results for children with disabilities.  This information is collected through Parent Satisfaction Surveys completed by a sample of parents of students with disabilities.  Information from the surveys is reported in the state’s Annual Performance Report to the United States Department of Education.

Does IAS have an ESOL program?

English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) is the state-funded language instruction educational program for eligible English learners (ELs) in grades K-5. ESOL language instruction is focused on developing EL students’ academic English proficiency in each content area of the Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE). ESOL scholars are provided support English language acquisition and development of skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through content based instruction. The goal of the ESOL language instruction educational program for EL students is to increase both English language proficiency (ELP) and academic language proficiency in content-area subject matter.

IAS outperformed other Cobb county schools:

  • 93.0% In Progress on the CCRP for growth in English Language Arts and Mathematics (Outperforming the State by 8%)
  • 90.0% In readiness for Readiness on the CCRP for the next level, college, or career (Outperforming the State by 7.7%)
  • 100% In closing the gap on the CCRP for all students making improvements in achievement rates (Outperformed the State by 33.3%)
